“And he bit me, babe. Fucking bit me. He was giving me the hungry eyes. It was like Dirty Dancing only instead of Baby in the corner, it was Cal sucking on my neck and fingering my butthole in the corner.” “He did that?” I gasped. “Well, no,” he backtracked again.
“Relax, Orio. Sit down. We need to talk about the diary,” Gabriel said, gripping his arm tightly and leaning in close to speak in his ear. “Oh, and if you ever shove my sister like that again I’ll rip one of your arms off.” He said it so calmly, but the darkness in his eyes said he’d absolutely do it. Aw, I love my psycho big brother.
“Stay,” I mocked him like he was a dog, pointing a finger at him and he nipped the end of it with a smirk.
Gabriel started laughing, cracking up and we all turned to him while he tried to pull himself together. “What’s so funny?” Seth asked with a grin. Gabriel reined it in, shaking his head then his face returned serious. “I can’t really say.” “Oh, come on,” Seth pushed. “You can’t do us like that.” Gabriel shook his head. “If I say, it’ll change everything.” “So, it’s good news?” I asked hopefully, but Gabriel said nothing, obviously fighting the urge to laugh again.
“Claiming the throne wasn’t enough? You have to sit a Vega at your feet too?” “Well, I could have her sucking my cock if you don’t think it’s enough,” Father replied with a cruel twist to his lips and it took everything in me not to lunge at him as my entire body flooded with rage. “Would you like that, Roxanya?”
“I’ve seen a future where I get to touch you as much as I like, little dove,” he purred. “Where my king will gift you to me and send you to my bed as often as I wish in reward for all of the visions I’ve gifted him. Did you know your daddy gave me my scar? I’m going to enjoy paying his daughter back for it, over and over and over again.”
Through all the darkness, I’d finally found something good to hold onto. My brother, my sister, my friends. I would never take any of them for granted. And Lionel had better enjoy his time on the throne while it lasted, because the true queens would soon be coming to take it back.
I didn’t care that I worked my ass off from dawn ‘til nightfall. I didn’t care that I was exhausted and waking up early was brutal in comparison to the lazy mornings I’d been used to. I had a purpose now. And freedom that made me grab life by the balls because part of me feared how long it would last.
I took in his body with an equally assessing gaze, unable to avoid looking at his dick which was ringed with silver stones at the base and a rainbow made of coloured gems sat above it on his pubic bone. “Is this vajazzle thing something I’m supposed to do?” I asked him and he laughed wildly. “Firstly, it’s a dijazzle for a guy. And secondly, no you don’t have to do shit.” He smirked. “Nothing wrong with a plain Jane dick, buddy.”
“Give me a few minutes to just be glad to have you in your right mind again then I promise to go back to being a dick as soon as I can,” Orion joked. I relented, hugging him tight for a moment as we just took a second to appreciate the fact that we were both half free of our shackles, then I huffed out a frustrated breath and kneed him in the balls as hard as I could. Orion wheezed out a cough laced with a surprised curse, and I gave him a shove so he fell back onto the couch beside us as he cupped his junk. “That’s for breaking my sister’s heart, asshole,” I snarled, pointing a finger at him

“I missed you, asshole,” I said in a low voice. “Missed you too, savage.”
“My king!” the man in the pit cried. “I’m innocent.” The crowd jeered and the guard holding him shoved him to his knees before backing up and bowing to our father. “Who is he?” the Savage King murmured to Lionel. “A thief, Your Highness,” he whispered. “The Rat stole a hundred gold coins from my cousin Benjamin.” Hail scoffed. “Benjamin Acrux is a gambler who has brought plenty of shame on your name, Lionel.” “Be that as it may, the word of a Dragon is worth more than a Rat’s,” Lionel hissed, and my blood burned hotter.
Lionel leaned closer to Hail and murmured, “You will show no mercy, sire. A Dragon’s word is law. But the decision has come from you, now forget my words.” The power of his Dark Coercion filled his voice in an undertone that made my stomach lurch.
“Help me, I don’t know my mind anymore. I don’t know who I am. Why do I do the things I do? I need to know what’s wrong with me. Let me see things clearly,” he begged of the star in his palm and my heart twisted painfully as I watched our father break. He spoke words to it that I could barely comprehend, the magic in them clear as they buzzed through the air and the star shone brighter in his palm.
“Get out of the way, you stupid bitch,” he snapped, and a growl escaped me as he stalked away while Roxy sighed in pleasure. “Did you hear that, Darius?” she asked, turning to look at me, her eyes bright with excitement which soothed something deep inside my soul. “Angry locals swearing at people just trying to have a good time - isn’t it beautiful?”
“No, you didn’t. But you were mine from the first moment I laid eyes on you. You’re just too damn stubborn to say it out loud.”
Having Orion’s new number was a treat in itself. I sent him daily photographs of me and Darcy together with captions like #sheaintblueoveryounomore and #teamDeth. He’d blocked my number after threatening to rip my intestines out and strangle me with them – among other murderous threats - but then I got a magical app which sent my texts from anonymous numbers so he couldn’t keep me away. It was hilarious. And very intentional. Because I was officially kickstarting Mission: Get Darion Back Together.
Denial was my best friend who liked to braid my hair and call me pretty.
I cut him a look and mimed snipping a pair of scissors with my fingers while he grimaced, shifting a protective hand over his balls as he shook his head in horror at me.
“She was trying to tell me,” he said roughly, his fingers digging in. “Tell you what?” I asked in confusion. “Whenever she came pawing at me or flirting with me, she always used to say the same things over and over. Always the same words in the same order and I was so caught up in being horrified that my friend’s mother was trying it on with me that I never really thought about what she was really saying.” “What words?” I asked. “Handsome, enamouring, lovely, powerful. And sometimes she’d add unbelievable and sexy too.” “So...” “The first letter of each of those words spells out the message

She’d dropped a mirror in her wake, and I hurried forward, picking it up and checking my reflection. Oh shit. I looked like a deranged yeti with a glittering horn poking out the centre of my face and huge fangs peeking out of my mouth.
