The point we’ve been hammering away at is that, in the realm of programming, lone craftspeople are extremely rare — and even when they do exist, they don’t perform superhuman achievements in a vacuum; their world-changing accomplishment is almost always the result of a spark of inspiration followed by a heroic team effort.
I really didn't enjoy much of the negative and fearful tone of this section.
Focus more on the benefits of working with others and together; less on demonizing lone work or being a genius. Some of the most effective people I've worked with are more lone developers. We shouldn't all be that way, but it can be okay for some people to be that way and have some of those people in your org.
