A simple way to depict the trade-offs is to draw a triangle of tension between Good (Quality), Fast (Latency), and Cheap (Capacity), as illustrated in Figure 6-1.
I think the illustration is better with the dimensions on the edges. Then your choice is a point within or on the triangle, where distance from the edge indicates lack of prioritizing it (i.e. closer to edge is choosing it, further from an edge is not choosing it). Choosing a point at a vertex is thus choosing the two edges that meet therr completely over the other edge (that point is at the furthest possible point from the third edge).
