These studies showed that readability has a net positive impact on engineering velocity. CLs by authors with readability take statistically significantly less time to review and submit than CLs by authors who do not have readability.
But isn't that with readability as a requirement? I.e., of course those with Readability pass Readability faster than those without. But what about if readability isn't a requirement?
Plus, if only 1% have Readability, then the "time saved" by those with readability almost certainly does not outweigh the readability cost incurred by the other 99%.
I'm not arguing against readability, but this is a poor argument that readability has net positive impact on engineering velocity.
