Then she thought she could disappear. If a battle is what it’ll take to protect and own her, I’ll shed blood. Wars aren’t fair, and neither am I.
He ended my family and I’ll end his. Or what remains of it.
I’ve lost enough family members for a lifetime and I will not be taken off guard again.
her mind that I want to invade and conquer. Which shouldn’t happen, because I make it my mission to not get interested in any other human being. I didn’t sign up for being consumed by Aurora, and I’ll put an end to it…eventually.
Aurora Harper sold her soul to the devil. It goes without saying that she’ll never be able to escape me.
The fact that she’s been a loner her entire life is so similar to me. The only difference is that I used it to rise up, while she had to run. She’s had to suffer in silence, including during her sleep.
Aurora is mine, and I’ll bring chaos to the world to protect what’s fucking mine.
“Because she hated her father for your mother’s death and wanted to bring him down.
“Did you ever love her?” My words are small, barely audible. “I thought I did,
I am not crazy.
She’s like Alicia. Just like Alicia. Do you remember when she used to make things up? It’s not only a resemblance in their features. They must’ve inherited the wrong genes from their mother.
“Not before she locked up and tortured my son, whom, should I remind you, you kidnapped.” “That’s because you burned my whole fucking factory, Jonathan. People died. Aiden didn’t.”
“And Jonathan did nothing to help her.”
He hesitates. It’s the first time I’ve witnessed Aiden hesitating. “Jonathan never looked at her the way he looks at you.”
“I mean, you’re the woman who tamed Jonathan King. Anyone would respect you for that — Aiden included.” “I didn’t tame him.” Far from it. If anything, whatever we had has been destroyed since my hallucinations. “Have you seen the way he’s possessive of your time and attention?”
“You brought colours to his previously bleak world. I can feel it.”
“I always know where you are.” He removes his jacket, places it on the chair beside him, and loosens his tie. “You don’t really think you can escape me, do you?”
I feel like he thinks his father doesn’t care about him in any other way, except for the fact that he’s his heir. Jonathan does, though. I hear him every other day asking Harris for updates about Aiden and Levi.
The King men surely think differently. It’s like they bond over battles and wars.
“We’ve been living here for fifteen months, and this is the first time Jonathan has stepped foot into our house. I thought he’d never come over, so thank you for bringing him. I know it means a lot to Aiden.”
It’s not a dream. It’s Jonathan.
“You chased me.”
“I did.”
“W-why?”
“Because you’re mine.”
Unlike the way he handles my body, Jonathan’s kisses aren’t as experienced. It’s almost like he didn’t like kissing before.
“I mean it, Aurora. If you leave again, I won’t only chase you to Leeds or Oxford. I’ll flip the world upside down to find you.”
“Then I’ll burn the world that forced you to disappear and resurrect you from its ashes.”
“You don’t seem to understand what it means to be mine. It’s not only about how you belong to me, or that I’ll cut off the dick of any bastard who looks your way and shove it up his arse. It’s also about how I’ll protect you from the world and yourself if I have to. It’s about burning your obstacles so you can leave the shadows and shine like you were always meant to. You can provoke or test me or even give me that fucking attitude, but you do not get to run away from me.”
My son thinks I could’ve provided for her emotionally, but he doesn’t know that she never allowed me to get close.
Fuck me. This woman has a fire in her, and she’s not afraid of showing it whenever she deems necessary.
For someone who never actually belonged anywhere, it’s a huge deal that she’s picking my place as her home.
Has the great Jonathan King finally met his match?”
Soon, she’ll be safe from both the world and herself.
“B-but you said you wanted a baby.” “I only wanted to glue you to me with that. Now, I’ll just find another method.”
I’ll bring the world to its knees in front of you. All you have to do is ask.” “Why?” I whisper. “Why what?” “Why would you do that for me?” “Because the world needs to bend the knee for my queen.” My queen. My mouth falls open and my eyes nearly bug out.
“No one hurts a fucking hair on your head, Aurora. No one touches you but me. Do you hear me? I’ll burn them all down before they put you through the hell from eleven years ago again.”
“I’m not protecting you because you’re a woman. I’m protecting you because you’re my woman.”
Or not. That means imagining him with Alicia, and I feel so guilty towards her right now. I feel so guilty for wanting her husband for myself. For feeling safe with him like I never have with another human being.
I need details, mate. And I’m totes not jealous that you have a Daddy and I don’t. *crying emoji*
While I was planning the future Aurora and I will have together after the drama with Maxim ends, she’s been thinking about the fucking deal.
doesn’t matter if I paint the world gold for her or if I pluck the bloody stars from the sky and scatter them at her feet. She’ll just step over them and run.
I was never one to receive affection.
Being incapable of it turned me into a solid wall against it.
That isn’t the problem, though. The problem is that I want her to be different when I never wished for it in my entire existence.
“Unless you give her space. If you want her to fall back into you willingly, then you should leave her alone for a while.” “How long is a while?” “As long as it takes.” “What if she never comes back?” He sighs and readjusts his glasses again. “Then it’s better to let
Let her go. I know what that means, and despite my black mood, I recognise it’s probably the best option for her. But how the fuck can I let go of the piece of myself I finally found?
Being with Jonathan is like free-falling without a landing. It’s finding oneself after years of being lost. It’s peace after a war. And it’s all because of him.
Aurora barged into my life, wreaked havoc in my order, and disrupted my chessboard.
