Brahma and Vishnu taking pride in their prowess, tried to establish supremacy over each other claiming that they were powerful than the other. Shiva interjected in this fight and became a long pillar of fire and asked Vishnu to find his feet and Brahma to find his head. Vishnu took the form of a wild boar and dug through the ground to find the feet, while Brahma turned into a swan and flew high to find the head.
