“God damn it.” His voice was jagged. “I can’t decide if I want to kiss you or choke you.”
His momentum carried him into the kitchen and then he was reaching for her. He pulled her into his arms and his mouth found hers in a fierce, possessive kiss. He wanted to brand her, to claim her so no one else could touch her.
“I’m not yelling,” he yelled. “I’m being upset on your behalf in a loud manner.”
There was power in the way he prowled into the room, authority in the way he looked at her.
But she was alive, and she wanted to feel like it.
