Claiming to be silenced plays an important part in both sexing up views that have become dulled by mainstreaming, while at the same time conferring a sort of underdog legitimacy on to plain old bigotry. When there is no evidence that prejudice is being silenced by a cabal of liberals, as ever, it must be fabricated.
