When we talk about overthinking, we’re talking about those times when we lavish mental energy on things that don’t deserve it.
Perfection isn’t possible, but change totally is.
“The mental arena isn’t my area of expertise,” he said, “but I know this: your thoughts can be the enemy, or you can make them your ally.”
“I make my students do hard things,” he said, “but those hard things don’t stay hard.” With practice, those hard things become doable. Soon enough, they’ll become second nature.
To extricate yourself from analysis paralysis, you don’t need more information. You need to act.
When we ruminate, we focus on our problems in an unhelpful way. If we were focusing on solving our problems, that would serve us well.
