Man, I remember sitting in my car in Santa Monica in the early sixties. A blue Plymouth. I just wanted to dig the ocean and the sun, you know, California’s beautiful. It must have been eight in the morning, and the Pacific Ocean is gorgeous at that hour. Out of nowhere, a patrol car rolled up and parked behind me.
