What man doesn’t want validation from their father. We walk around pretending like being raised by just our mothers doesn’t affect us, but it does.
What I gathered from social media wasn’t enough. There was more to her. Her eyes told a story that I wanted her to read to me.
“We put so much pressure on ourselves because of what we think should or shouldn’t be happening that we don’t let things happen as they should.
“I’m only being me,” he said, pulling on my nose. “This is who I am. I just want you to see that you deserve to be taken care of. It shouldn’t always fall on you or the women around you.”
“Our love is music on a hot summer day, it’s easy and relaxing. Our love is respect. It’s what we feel deep in our gut. Our love is the conscious decision we make every day to be better for each other. It’s in our words, but more importantly, it’s our actions. Our love is sound. Whole. Two souls that have become one.”
