“Definitely in a bit of a pickle, here. I might need to be slapped on occasion.”

Fuming, I ripped the door off its hinges. Or tried, anyway. They were a lot stronger than last time. The captain had seen me coming. “Dang it.” “Sorry, kid. You could’ve been a contender.”
Also, and this is the most important question, who is going to clean up all these gooey, dead vampire bodies?”
“Unicorns and bonds.” He lifted his hand and grazed his thumb against my lips. “Unicorns and you.”
