“Your rodent is trying to kill me again.” “Freyja is not a rodent, Rory!”
“I really hope that’s you, Mariposita, or someone’s about to get a socket wrench up his ass.”
"Then we're gonna fuckin' party!" Jandro raised a fist in the air. 'Cause fuck knows we all deserve one." I rolled my eyes. "Like you guys ever need a reason to party."
Immediately after Mari found her, the animals went into protective mode. They guarded and took to her like she was one of their own.
Here it was, the place where I could fit. The calm in her storm, her anchor and her safety.
“But it’s so worth it to me. I feel so loved, so cherished. Seeing how Reaper looks at me, how Jandro holds me—I feel like I’m made of sunlight and I just want to give that kind of love back to them, so they can feel it too.”
“You think she’s done yet?” “I swear to God, I’m gonna waterboard you if you don’t shut up,” Reaper grumbled.
"Congrats on a successful delivery, baby girl. And if it wasn't obvious," he pressed his lips to my ear, "I'm all in. I'm yours and you're mine."
“Rest in peace, Sons.” Flying somewhere over our heads, a raven cawed ominously.
“Mari, will you be mine forever?” He swallowed thickly. “And only fuck other guys that I approve of?”
“My dirty girl wants to make love to me, is that it?” “I know. Kinky, isn’t it?”
“What was that?” Reaper chuckled into my ear, his voice raspy and ragged. “Do you want more of this from me, sugar?” He swelled inside me, pulling a scream from my throat. “Worshipping you,” he groaned, his control unraveling with every breath. “Revering you. Loving you. With every inch of me.”
Mindful of her fresh ink, I kept my other arm lower, ultimately deciding to wrap it around her waist. With both arms, I returned the light squeezing that she initiated. So this was my first hug. I closed my eyes and willed my body not to shake from everything running through me.
"Horus battled with another god, Set, and lost his eye in the process." A hand floated up to the scarred side of his face. "I didn't lose my eye, but was blinded before being able to see with it again."
“Hades?” I repeated. “Hades, the dog?” “Part-time dog. Full-time lord of the underworld.”
