“I had the strangest dream. I dreamed you and I were at the center of the Earth.” He leaned closer to her. “Do you want the good or bad news?” He laughed softly. Jane opened her eyes. “Oh God, it’s real.”

“A city,” he breathed out. Most of the inside of this corner of the mountain seemed hollowed out. Built into the walls and along winding avenues were buildings, all dark now and filled with nothing but shadows and the silence of the tomb.
“It’s okay, Harry, we’re safe for now. Tell us, what did you see?” Michael asked. Wenton stared straight ahead. He laughed, but the sound was almost a sob. “Lovecraft,” he said.
