“Yes. I am. You should respect another woman standing up for what she believes in.”

“It seems you fit here better than I imagined.” “Why? Because I gave into the madness here?” “No.” His gaze slid to me. “Because you accepted it in yourself.”

Even though you’re alive doesn’t mean you are living. And no life is worth living if you are just existing.”

“Sounds like someone was a good girl.” Hare winked at me. “Or very bad.” I grinned back. Scrooge glanced over his shoulder at me, shooting heat down my torso through my limbs. Don’t go there, Alice. Stop it. But it was too late. Which list did I need to be on to get him in my stocking?

“Plus, who names their kid Bing? Did he go off like a dinner timer? Bing! Your kid is ready.”

“Hating me is the only way, Alice, because I can’t allow what I truly want.”

“Sometimes looking at something from a different perspective changes everything,”

“Fuck! Just load her stocking already,” Hare exclaimed, throwing his arms out at us. “Ride his sleigh, will you? Put the rest of us out of our misery.”

“Lie is such a restricting term. I’d rather think of it as being optimistically ahead of the truth.”
