Feeling the feelings—which are an appropriate human response to racism and oppression—is an important part of the process.

The purpose of this work is not for you to end up living in shame. The purpose is to get you to see the truth so that you can do something about it.

Your desire to be seen as good can actually prevent you from doing good, because if you do not see yourself as part of the problem, you cannot be part of the solution.
