The opposite of fear is curiosity.
Fear is the impulse to turn away and curiosity is the impulse to turn toward. Fear is the desire to close down and curiosity is the desire to expand and explore. Fear presupposes danger and curiosity presupposes safety.
Focus helps stabilize our attention in the present, grounding us, and enabling us to more clearly see the different layers of our experience—awareness, story, experience—like a magnifying glass for our mind.
Allowing gives us the ability to meet the moment as it is, without grasping or pushing, helping us move fluidly through our moments and embrace the unknown.
