I had a Philosophy/Religion Degree. I managed the kitchen with another dude who had the same degree. There is probably a lesson there. I should be able to figure that lesson out, I have a degree in Philosophy.
No doctor has ever told me to calm down, because I’m a man and we don’t get belittled like that. Also because I don’t go to the doctor (probably also due to the fact that I’m a man).
Kids who are adopted are not lucky. Kids who are raised by two loving biological parents, surrounded by the community of their kin - those kids are lucky.
Families give glory to God by being families. When parents protect and nurture children, that is an act of worship.
I believe in a God who cares about the world, and is actively involved. But I am HIGHLY skeptical of people who are always getting direct messages about what to do or not to do. However, I am not highly skeptical of my wife.
If I have three areas of expertise. it’s Marvel, Scene Stuff, and Boundaries. Boundaries is a sophisticated code word for "saying no to things." I’m super gifted at that. My life is easier than yours because of that fact.
Every part of this story is ridiculous, I know that. But it’s my story, so I’m going to continue.
God called us to do this thing. We responded. It was good, and right, and beautiful, and redemptive. And, for a long time, it was hard as hell.
The answer is always the same: “Do you want to live in a country where it’s easy for the government to remove your right to be a parent?”
