“Sawyer would still be here if I hadn’t been so lazy and selfish,” she cries as she wipes her nose with the back of her sleeve. “It’s all my fault.”

Kids who stayed out all night without a place to crash were the ones who got in real trouble.

“Honey, you have to let yourself off the hook. We all say stupid things and stuff we regret. This just reminds us how important it is to treasure the time we have with people.”
