“You never answered. What makes you so sure you’ll win the fight against the boyfriend you think I have?” “Because, Mae.” He yawned. “I’d be fighting for you.”
“I’m not your friend.” He put his hand on mine and held it. “I’m your blood, remember?”
you were mine, I’d make it so that you never have any doubts.” “You can’t promise that.” “I won’t promise that. I’ll just show you.”
“If you feel anything like how you taste, I’m warning you, get out now.” He placed his forehead against mine. “Because I won’t let you go.”
“I’m not letting you go.” His eyes popped open, meeting mine as he pulled out and thrust again. “I never want to let you go.”
“I don’t have a harem.” He wrapped a hand behind my neck and reached down and kissed me. “I have you.”

“But I’m sad.” I blinked. My eyes filled with tears again. “All the time. All the time I’m just . . . sad.” “Yet you’re still my happy.”
“You’re my family. You’re my blood.” He brought up my right hand and kissed the palm, where my scar was already fading, but the pledge would forever stay. “I love you.”
“I want you forever, Amelia,” he said against my hair. “And forevermore after that.”
