Before she left, I’d asked her a couple of final questions, “Demedicus was found to have human blood from one of the victims on his clothing. If Ambrogio is killing people and only the Senior Council can get hold of it, how do you suppose he got some? Could it be that he found out what it was because of his close ties as an acolyte?” I was fleshing out ideas in my own head not expecting Angela to know either way. He brought it to me in a silver chalice and said he’d overheard Ambrogio talking to the Senior Council members and telling them that drinking the blood of his victims would start the turn and that it would imbue them with extra strength and faster reactions. He was completely mad for the idea that we would gain superhuman strength and power by drinking it. I said that I didn’t want to. I had no idea it was really human blood.
