Another inanely stupid plot device by the author.
What Jackson hadn't counted on was an Alliance Fleet commander that was willing to put civilians in harm's way and fire on noncombatants, erasing centuries of unspoken agreement when it came to interstellar warfare.
Same Alliance Commander destroyed two of Wolfe's support ships. Another disingenious and naive plot device by the author to move his narrative along.

The inanity continues by the author using disingenuous plot devices. Here Lt Trapp is completely ignored as well as the camera malfunctions during her unobserved contact with Cmdr Trane.
