“And do you repent?” “Yes, yes. I’m…truly sorry.” No, he’s not. He’ll do the same thing, again and again, because some of us can’t help ourselves. We’re fundamentally flawed, drawn to the darkness. Bad people. But it’s often said that God loves the sinner. He just hates the Sin.
“Little do you know, sweet Delilah,” I lean in close, nipping her earlobe, “For even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.”
“We’re two sides of the same coin, Delilah. Just let go of that morality you cling to so hard.”
“What would you have me do? Walk away and leave you to the wolves.” “You are the wolf, Judas,” she breathes, burying her face against my chest. I stroke over the length of her hair and drop my lips to her ear. “But I’m your wolf, little lamb.”
A small smile touches his lips, and a certain peace washes over his features. “Only a tainted soul would love the damned.”
Judas is a bad man, and it’s that which keeps me safe. The devil protects his own.
