It’s recognizing that sometimes, you don’t have to go to three stores to get your friend the perfect “OMG, so them!!!” birthday card in existence—because any birthday card you choose will do. It’s planning to make guacamole for your next potluck, and then taking a look at your schedule for the next few days and remembering that—if I may quote Ina Garten here—store-bought is fine.
