We loved California, and it was being ruined by too many cars, planes, factories, pesticides, herbicides, and whatever the industries could con people into buying. When Los Angeles’ people finally admitted to smog so thick it could sicken, their answer was to cancel school recess and keep the kids inside.   Charlie        Air and water ain’t worth much — after all, it’s everywhere. How would it fit on the stock exchange?
