She continued to run her mouth over his, coaxing him to respond. Finally, when she gently bit his bottom lip, his quick intake of breath gave her an opening. Deepening the kiss, she touched his tongue with hers. Theo gave a pained groan and slipped his tongue against hers in return.
She pulled back, intending to remove her dress and his shirt so she could feel his skin against hers, but with a growl he wrenched her mouth back up to his and continued skillfully kissing her.
“Everything I want to do with you is rough and brutal and mindless and happens whether you want it or not. I would hurt you. I wouldn’t be able to stop myself, and I wouldn’t be able to live with my guilt if I hurt you.”
“Catch me if you can, big guy.”
“Mine.”
“Come for me, wife.”
Theo didn’t know how Clecanians had gone without kissing for this long. After experiencing it, he couldn’t imagine not taking her soft mouth with his hourly.
He didn’t deserve her as a mate. Hadn’t treated her as such thus far. Only a few days ago, she’d told him she wanted to enjoy herself while she was here. That meant she was still intent on leaving him after the three-month marriage ended.
Theo had always longed to know how it felt to hold a female in his arms as he slept, but he’d resigned himself to the fact that he never would.
She wants to sleep like this? So close to me?
Theo had never felt more comfortable in his entire life. He nuzzled her hair and neck, breathing in her scent. When he began to purr contentedly, she laughed.
“Many Clecanians do. Before you, I hadn’t purred in a very long time.” He wasn’t sure how to answer her last question. “We purr when we feel…happiness without effort. When we are content.”
When we feel whole, he said to himself.
Was this how she’d be with him? Trusting and sweet? Would she choose to be close to him throughout the day and then give herself to him at night? If he believed he’d be able to hold his sated female like this every night, then all the pain he’d been through in his life would’ve been worth it.
Theo now knew for certain that he’d never be able to let her go. There was no happy existence if she weren’t with him. Maybe if he tried hard enough, he could convince her to extend their marriage, if only for a few more months.
She was awake and now she’d surely move away from him. His hold around her hip tightened in preparation.
“Then I’ll take you to the bath. I’ll bring some breakfast for us to have in the bath as well.” “Ooh. Breakfast in bath. I like it.”
Now she was sitting in a hot bath the size of a small swimming pool, eating a sweet, flaky food that reminded her of a dry baklava, while a tattoo-covered Adonis massaged her shoulders.
“You could betray
me a hundred times over, and I fear I’d still fall at your feet.”
“I could devour your luscious cunt for every meal and die happy.”
“I love to hear you moan my name like that.”
“I don’t want to hear about other males you’ve fucked.”
“Then they don’t deserve to bed a female,”
She was more of a companion than a typical wife and he found that he never grew tired of her. He only ever wanted to be near her.
There was another reason he enjoyed facing her during sex. From this new position, he could see her eyes. She really looked at him. Her eyes roamed over him with delight, and for the first time in his life he felt attractive.
He knew for certain now that he’d never be able to let her go. He’d even begun thinking through a plan to steal her away if she decided to leave him in two months. There was no way he could live without her after experiencing what his life could be like.
Little do they know she won’t be attending any other ceremonies,
She would see him side by side with males who had the charm and looks he’d always envied, and she’d find him lacking.
He needed to make sure she was well loved tonight. So much so that she wouldn’t have the energy to even glance at any other male.
Theo desperately wanted Jade to decide to stay with him on her own. He didn’t want to have to steal her away against her will. He knew she’d hate him, but for some reason his skin crawled and an emptiness clawed in his stomach every time he thought of her leaving.
He hadn’t accepted any reciprocation either, knocking her hands away each time she
reached for him. It was as if he’d wanted to prove to her that he could master her body. Could make it do whatever he wanted. He’d succeeded.
“Go speak with her now, Asivva, before I drag that male away from her.”
“It’s a good thing you don’t have to visit him anymore, then. In fact, I’d recommend you refrain from looking at him at all.”
Xoris was wrenched free in an instant. She saw his body fly across the room. Theo stood in front of her, his eyes black and his fists clenched.
“Oh, yes I can. You’ll be staying with me, Jade, and I’ll make sure you never so much as set your eyes on another male ever again. I’ll lock you away if I have to.”
His mate had been stolen from him, and there was no male in the universe more equipped to retrieve her.
No, he thought savagely. Gather intel. Locate the target. Slaughter anyone who stands in my way.
“You found me.”
“I will always find you, Jade.”
