I trusted that there was a blessing hiding somewhere in the dark crevices of this tragedy; and that no matter how long it took, I would diligently seek it and find it.  And not only would I find it… I would embrace it. I would learn it. I would teach it.

This is what makes tragedy and those dreadful, dark moments in life more bearable—getting to that place where you’re able to look back and see you’ve conquered them and you’re helping others to conquer their moments as well.

I decided that it was time for the tiny and imperfect pieces of my fragmented heart to be lovingly swept up, placed on the table, reassembled and super-glued back together again.  Those fragments would no longer be my weaknesses.  Those fragments would no longer have power over me.  Those fragments would no longer serve as an excuse for my complacency.  Those fragments would become my strength.

But instead of giving up and sweeping everything into the trash, I deliberately and lovingly gathered those fragments and found a way to fuse them into something new.
