Sex workers who’ve been harmed can get justice in many ways without police: They can share their experiences with others to protect them. They can train others. They can work to change the system. All of these forms of justice can restore agency to the sex worker. Sex workers have to move through sexual trauma—or they can’t work or survive. Sex workers are targeted because the perpetrator knows that they are criminalized and they are not protected.
