Whit’s fur ye’ll no go past ye. Some things in life are destined to happen. What’s meant to be, is meant to be. It’s fate.
What’s that old expression? ‘If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.’ You’ll make him laugh even louder if you tell him those plans involve a cat.
Sometimes in life, the things you’re looking for have a way of finding you.
I’ve always felt that the more people have, the more they have to worry about.
Life should be about the simple pleasures. Moments like this. Sunsets, sunrises over deserted beaches. A couple of beers with friends. It doesn’t have to be complicated.
Once again Nala was my teacher. She had really taken to the flat, especially the little balcony overlooking the pretty street below. She could spend hours there watching the world go by, snatching a snooze when she felt like it. I needed to take a leaf from her book again; I needed to switch off and enjoy life day by day. I did exactly that.
Luckily, the perfect solution presented itself, as I’ve learned it often will when you stop worrying and let life take its course.
A good friend isn’t there all the time, but they are there when it counts.
A good traveller has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.
The second quote was from Ernest Hemingway, who wrote: Never go on trips with anyone you do not love.
We’d see where the road took us. As long as we stuck together, I knew we’d be fine.
