It’s like when everything is moving really fast, but you’ve created that speed. You’re the one who set all these great things into motion, but now they’re spinning all at once.

“Nah, change is easy,” he said. “Staying the same is a lot harder on you.”

“We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”

I’d thought my soul was held captive, and I had the key the whole time.

Whatever you are going through, the sun will come.

Owning my faults is an easy thing for me. Learning from those realizations and breaking the cycle of making the same choices, that’s the work.

A lot of people, even when they’re out of control, have an ability to control others. Your anxiety and your addiction team up like viruses that need to grow in the host body. You train other people to work around them, to keep their peace.

“Sometimes we are all so afraid to be honest with ourselves because we know that honesty will lead to somewhere.” I wrote this ten years ago. “Can fear walk us to something better?”
