I just wanted to be myself. Harley Jameson. The biker princess of the baddest, scariest, meanest biker of them all. Prez of the End of the Road motorcycle club. Creed Jameson. My daddy.
“I know right from wrong, Momma. Just sometimes wrong feels right.”
“You’re right about one thing.” “What’s that?” “Jackson does love you,” Cash agreed. “He just loves to hate you.”
Our mouths stayed connected for I don’t know how long, time stood still. I would never tell her this, she would never know… But it was my first kiss too. Harley Jameson was my first kiss.
I wouldn’t realize this until I was much older, but Harley would eventually become my escape from the lonely life I’d create. This wouldn’t be the first time she saved me. Except, by the time I figured it out… How much she meant to me… It’d be too late.
“I don’t know why this is happening, baby. I wish I could tell you. I wish I had answers, but I don’t. All I can say is live your life, Jackson. You live your life like nothing happened to me. Do you hear me? Are you listening? I need you to be free from me. You live. You love. You laugh. You be happy. No matter the outcome.”
