I started to walk toward the main township of Port Willow when I felt someone following me. My heart sped up a little, and when I glanced back, I caught the silver hair of Raff. I wasn’t headed back to the foster’s, so why the hell was he following me? I stopped suddenly, and I heard his feet shuffle to a stop. “Why are you following me?” I demanded, putting my hands on my hips and looking him right in the eyes. He didn’t speak, he just stood there. After an awkward moment, he looked away, then brushed past me and continued walking into town. “Fuck you then,” I called after him and started to walk the other way, back toward the foster house. Fuck it, the food was nice and the room was warm. It was a nicer day today, as the sun had broken through the clouds for all of five minutes, but it didn’t rain, and it was only going to get colder as the day turned to night. I really had to stop thinking of running away. I only had, what…like just over two months left of high school, then I was done. I would turn eighteen, graduate, and figure out something from there. Save up, find somewhere to live, and eventually go to college. That was the plan, but I needed a new job since I wasn’t working at The Landing Strip anymore. I was definitely not going back to working in a strip club anytime soon. When I felt Raff behind me again, I rolled my eyes as I looked to the sky and the clouds above. What the hell was his problem?
