Today many intelligence tests give a single intelligence quotient, held to be a measure of general intelligence. IQ tests purport to measure only fluid intelligence. Fluid intelligence is associated with the ability to solve problems that require no prior knowledge, such as abstract logic puzzles that one has never seen before and for which one has no context.
