​“You have nothing to blame yourself for, son,” Jack told him. “Nothing at all.” ​“Yeah,” the guy said, his eyes glazing over. “But it don’t stop me doing it, though, does it?”

I never allowed anger to pervade in my house. Apathy. Sadness. Betrayal. Yes. But I never made them fear me.

It was a bright evening, yellow clouds filling the blue sky, but he walked under the oppression of his own black cloud, one constant thought ringing in his head: ​You fucking idiot.

Was this the world? The unworthy campaigning for more than they should expect, while so many of the worthy go without?
