Have I left behind a certain type of relationships? Absolutely. But have I cut myself off from meaningful relationships? Not even close! Jesus promises that every relationship I release for his sake will be given back to me a hundredfold in the church (Mark 10:29–30). The church can be a messy place, but I have been adopted into a family, and I would be a fool to reject that to cling to something I used to long for.
