“Macy,” he murmured, commanding my chin up with the tip of his index finger. “Look at me.” Oh, how difficult it was to defy the appeal as he inched closer, his chair scraping the linoleum beneath it.

Because the nurses all joked about how your heart rate sped up the whole time she was in here, then settled back down a few minutes after she left.” He chuckled, noting something on my chart. “Just be sure to keep things friendly between the two of you while you recover.” “Not even one kiss?” I asked on behalf of my impatient lips, curious to know how Macy tasted. “If all best friends looked like her, one kiss wouldn’t be enough.”
My advice to everyone is, don’t try to nurse a broken heart while living far away from friends and family. Nights at home were bad; they were when I missed Lucas the most.
