At a May 2018 hearing of the US House Committee on Science, Space and Technology, Representative Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) speculated that perhaps rising sea levels could be attributed to rocks falling into the ocean. For example, he asked his constituents to consider the continuously eroding White Cliffs of Dover.
