Born Again and Again: Jesus' Call to Radical Transformation

To begin to understand how to become “arena folks” for one another, we will need to shift the conversation about what it means to be “saved” in the first place. Our definitions of being a Christian will need to become broader than just those who have privately asked Jesus to come into their heart. Our faith, if it is to be something other than a trinket to ease our anxieties about life, must affect our embodied life together and the ways we seek to organize our common, or public, life. The particularities of our personhood and our faith matter, and they must also reach beyond our personal life with the Lord. Being part of the kingdom of God demands more of our lives than fifteen minutes of quiet time in the private of our own homes.
