This isn’t it. I won’t let him go. I’ll follow him beyond The Veil. I’ll climb into the stars and drag his soul back out of them if I have to.
“Don’t take him from me. I’ll give you anything you want. Anything.”
I won’t let you go. I promised I’d do anything in my power to keep us together and I’ll do it, goddammit. I will do it.
“She chose not to be mine so it’s not like I get any say in what she does now, is it?” he said eventually, dropping back into his chair and looking away from me towards the fire once more.
“I’m in love with Darcy Vega,” I stated, not looking at him. “And she loves me too.”
Sofia: Happy New Year, Phillip! I hope all of your dreams come true x
I hope they do too. Because one of them is meeting you.
YOU ALL HAVE DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS.
“My favourite students are the ones who don’t piss me the fuck off,” Orion snapped.
“I’m always going to be alone now, aren’t I? Forever.”
“No, Darius. Fuck you! Fuck all the bullshit you spouted to me over the years about fighting back against your father, about working to change his legacy and being a better man than him. Fuck the lies you told about using your time to rule with the other Heirs to make Solaria a greater kingdom, and fuck you for being too much of a coward to just tell Tory Vega how you felt about her before it was too damn late!”
Darius Acrux on duty, sacrifice and his one true love.
Celestial Heir Darius Acrux gives his first interview since choosing Solaria over fate and telling Roxanya Vega that he would never be hers.
What if I screwed it up? What if I burst into my form too vigorously, skewered Portia Silverstone on my horn and shit a rainbow in the process?
Don’t be a dick today, stars. Pretty please with a cherry on top.
“Why did you fight it before?”
“Because I’m almost as afraid of this feeling as I am of you,”
“The stars might have decided that you can never be mine,” Darius said roughly, refusing to move away from me. “But I am yours. No matter what. I don’t care where we end up or who we’re with, I’ll always be yours. And I’m going to fix the damage I did to us even if the stars don’t care. I’m going to prove to you that I could have been worthy of you if I’d just listened to my heart sooner.”
Did she really paint my name on her skin? And why do I like the idea of that so much?
“Yes, Tor!” Darcy screamed as she pushed her way to the front of the crowd. “Show her how we fight where we come from!”
Yep, it’s official. I’m into my straight best friend. Thanks for the headfuck stars.
“The stars have deemed you very fucking worthy of a place at Zodiac Academy. So, what are you going to do with the chance they’ve given you?”
“I love you, Roxy,” he said in a rough, dark voice which held no room for lies or falsehood, no space for tricks of cruelty. Only the truth. I could feel it just as keenly as I could feel the rush of his magic beneath my skin.
“I’d take death over life without you,” he breathed, his voice rough and broken by fear.
“I miss you too,” he interrupted. “More than any words could ever convey.”
There were Phoenixes and Harpies, Dragons, a Hydra, and a sky filled with stars. All of it achingly beautiful and telling a story I couldn’t quite understand.
“I’m going to die tomorrow,” he replied and there was no sadness in his voice, just a calm acceptance of the fact.
“I’m going to trade my life for yours and the life of our son.”
“Our son will change the world, he’ll be the greatest Seer of his generation,” Marcel breathed as he leaned down to kiss our mother and the conviction of his words let me know that he had no doubt of that whatsoever. He’d seen it.
“I don’t want you to love me. I want you to leave and never come back.”
That was it. My only option. I had to walk away from this place and not look back. I had to hold onto a hope that was so small, it barely shone at all.
The stars had turned against us so thoroughly, I wondered if they’d ever been rooting for us.
The Imperial Star had supposedly fallen from the sky thousands of years ago, found by the first queen to ever sit on the throne of Solaria after she’d seen the blazing arc it had made through the sky as it fell. Once she had it, she started receiving visions in the night, whispers as if from the star itself that told her the ways of dark magic. She was the first Fae to learn it, wielding the powers to her advantage.
Today was the last day Lionel Acrux would hurt someone I loved.
I’d been born to rule.
