Or maybe it was because I realised how much of my life I’d been checked out for. And that sucked ass. I always felt like I was waiting for something to happen. Like I was passing time until the inevitable moment where my cage door was opened, and I found myself walking into freedom. But maybe that was just something I’d convinced myself of to make life more bearable.
