His eyes travel languidly down my body. I watch as he pulls his bottom lip between his teeth, shuddering at the unexpected tingle of arousal that I feel. Abruptly, he walks away, leaving me breathless. “You look gorgeous, Emma,” Aiden comments just as he turns the corner.
His eyes narrow darkly. “You should be happy I’m not putting something else in your mouth right now.” He steps toward me as my mouth drops. He brings his hand up, tapping my cheek. “Is this an invitation, babe?”
“I know you want me, Em.” His eyes burn into mine, his voice a soothing rumble. “I want you more, I can assure you of that. You don’t have to play coy with me.”

“You’re not some spoiled girl who has a driver.” A smirk crosses his face. “You’re my spoiled girl who has a driver.”
“What are you doing?” I ask through my tears. “We’re slow dancing while they scream.”
He rescued her, traded her life for his. He may be a damaged knight, but a knight nonetheless in her eyes. His yellow rose, though sad and alone, will be safe and sound. Forever.
