Studies have shown that each of us is essentially a bundle of habits, accumulated from our environment, our social interactions, our unique personalities and random life events.
Learning can be a richer and deeper experience if you break down the process into its components, design it to constantly challenge you, and tailor it to your needs and goals.
Not only does learning offer a sense of fulfilment, but it is also enriching, like an elixir for the mind, as you constantly form new connections and discover fresh perspectives.
The experience reinforced a simple principle: you will not get what you don’t work for.
Another thing that I took away from this experience was the zeal to take ownership for my learning and invest my time in what made sense to me as opposed to what I was told to do.

DELIBERATE PRACTICE MAKES YOU PERFECT
The daily habit of getting a good night’s sleep is a great way to start your journey to good health and better performance.
If you are able to squeeze in even fifteen to twenty minutes of running a few days per week, you will reap the benefits for years to come.

So while studying, ask yourself questions, but keep consulting your memory rather than constantly referring to your books.

Performance Hack #35: Work like You Bake—in Batches
The key is to have a routine with an activity that is something you really look forward to and that leaves you refreshed.
Before starting a new activity or even when you return to the same activity after a short break, remind yourself why it matters, how it connects with your larger goal and how you can bring the best version of yourself to that activity, instead of drifting into it like an automaton. If you can make a thirty- to sixty-second intentionality exercise a regular part of your work routine, it can significantly amplify the quality of your effort.
If you choose to dream big, believe in your dreams and have the determination to give this a fair shot, you must start working on your productivity engine. Before long, you will be cruising at supersonic speed towards your chosen destination.
A recurring theme associated with creative work is a state of relaxed engagement, which allows the mind to wander freely.
When we are out in nature, walking freely, the mind feels relaxed and begins to engage in the process of shuffling through all kinds of ideas without judgement or any deliberate direction. At times, it can be entirely silly, but fortunately, the mind doesn’t care as no one is watching. In this relaxed state, without even realising it, the brain processes hundreds of permutations for something that we might be trying to solve, and eventually, we are likely to run into a breakthrough. This is a very different state than the one in which you are paying deliberate attention to something specific.
