Urgency is the most dangerous of all addictions. It forces us to take decisions that we’d rather not take. It forces us to act in ways that we’d rather not. It cheats us by making us believe that the situation is at fault, and not us. Urgency becomes an excuse for shoddy work and sloppy decision-making. It creates an atmosphere in which we tend to justify everything we do - from jumping queues to running like fools to catch a flight.
