It was not in her nature to complain so, but she wanted to make Inouye feel bad, wanted to see the sting of guilt on his face. It would not make her feel better, not really, but it’d at least spread her discontent so that she did not bear the burden of it alone.

This part. The toxicity of doing something that won’t make you feel better but that will make someone feel bad to take the burden of it all off you. Hurt people hurt people. Bullies are bullied.
