“I think what you’re suggesting is the ideal. But it’s not very practical. Humans are fallible and selfish. They are lazy. And they so often take the road of least resistance. The idea of being at the mercy of another person’s decisions, trusting that person with my bank account and the money I earn, feels like dooming a relationship to failure.
