You can mourn your own changes, too. That you are no longer the person you used to be is, in my opinion, a good reason for mourning. It may be a cause for celebration, sometimes, too. But you can always give who you once were a send-off, a memorial, before you move on from them.

The more you grow as a person, the more homes you find, the more homes you make, the more homes you share. Each return to a home you once left becomes a realization that it takes up a smaller and smaller place among all the homes you now know. It’s only natural to feel like you’re being torn into pieces.

Every goodbye after our first should remind us that we’ve done this before. Instead of Goodbye, I’d like to start saying Goodbye, again. See you later cannot be promised, but Goodbye, again reminds us that we’ve done this before. And after the last time, at least, we both came back.
