Wanniski’s ideas were at odds with those of most economists, both liberal and conservative, as well as most historians. Economies throughout history had grown rich and remained stable without necessarily licensing the very richest to make money hand over fist. But the Wanniski vision jibed with the have-it-all culture at large. By this time, he had won over Jack Kemp.
