Let faith support us where reason fails, and we shall think because we believe, not in order that we may believe.
Faith is an organ of knowledge, and love an organ of experience. God came to us in the incarnation; in atonement He reconciled us to Himself, and by faith and love we enter and lay hold on Him.
“neither created nor begotten. The Son is of the Father alone, not made, nor created, but begotten. The Holy Spirit is of the Father and the Son: not made nor created, nor begotten, but proceeding.”
In His incarnation the son veiled His deity, but He did not void it.
