My reasoning is on solid ground. Max’s intelligence and efficiencies continue to strengthen at an astounding rate. Absent an appropriate utility function that would keep Max’s values apace with humanity’s, the least I can do is give Max the most human experience of all: mortality. Even if it’s only an illusion.
