“I g-g-got you diet!” she cried, barely able to force the words out between her laughter. “What?” I asked in confusion. “The mayo in your sandwich was half fat too!” Angelica added, clinging to Geraldine as she wiped tears from beneath her eyes. “Why?” I asked in confusion. “H-h-hell week!”
The long extinct Ismenian Dragon was once a powerful Order. As the largest of the Dragon Orders, its fire was three times the strength of its smaller cousins. Often darkest blue in colour, it had a forked tongue and poisonous breath which could kill a Fae up to fifty feet away.
“It wasn’t your job to protect Clara either, but you did all you could, didn’t you?” I asked. Lance’s jaw ticked. “Not enough.” “No. Not enough to save her from my father. And he didn’t even want her to die...what chance does Xavier have?”
“Do you want to know a secret?” she breathed, her voice lowering seductively. “What?” I asked, wanting to hear anything and everything she might ever want to tell me. She leaned a little closer and her long hair tickled my skin. “I think,” she breathed slowly. “That I’m going to puke.”
pretty much anything and everything he could think of so that he could forge me into a man who showed no fear. It’s what we do. It’s who we are.” “Well congratulations,” I muttered as I backed up, my hand closing on the door handle. Yep, I was abandoning my clothes because there was no way in hell I was staying here for another second. “Now you’re just like him.”
“Yeah, we’re motherfucking princesses and we own a goddamn palace. Maybe it’s time we went and visited it?” “Do you really think we can?” Darcy asked, her eyes lighting with excitement for a moment at the idea. “Maybe some of our parents’ stuff is still there...”
“No! It's a surprise,” I cried in amusement as he wrapped his arms around me, trying to reach my bag. My laughter echoed off of the ceiling and I stumbled back into the counter as he tugged at the strap. “Come on! Let me see your package, Darcy,” Diego insisted, grinning in my face as he stuck his hand into my bag.
He drew even closer to me, placing his hands on the chassis either side of where I sat and caging me in with his body. “Are you going to tell me what you want if you win?” I asked. “Something I can’t buy,” he replied, leaning a little closer. “Which I don’t think you’d give me if I just asked.”
You may work together or alone, it’s entirely up to you. And if you do make it to the platform, you will be graded by both myself, and the other professors based on your skill, how many failures you had, and how long it took for you to make it there.
Tory released the same noise of ecstasy beside me, and I turned to her in alarm. Panic clutched me with sharp claws as I spotted the long gash on her hand. She was still cutting herself with the blade, her eyes closed and a picture of intoxication on her face as she carved a deep line up her inner arm.
“How did it feel when you pinned her to the ground by her neck?” he breathed. “Did that make you feel good? Did you put her in her place?” I swallowed hard against a lump in my throat as shame prickled up my spine. “I wasn’t going to choke her. I didn’t even tighten my grip. I just...” “You just wanted her to think you might. Sound familiar?”
“Okay, if you think it’ll make you feel better,” Lance agreed. “Tory Vega is such a bitch. You went way too easy on her, and I really hope she’s off somewhere crying right now because she knows how wrong she is.” A faint smile tugged at my lips and Lance leaned back on his elbows as he went on. “I also heard that she’s fucking awful in bed and Caleb is only fucking her because he feels sorry for her. Besides, everyone knows she really wishes she could fuck the Fire Heir but he’s way out of her league, so she just cries herself to sleep over it every night instead.” “Fucking Vegas,” I muttered,

But if they do, we make sure they wish they never had.” Seth’s eyes glimmered with darkness as he took that in, and he stopped straining against my hold on him. “We’ll take them down?” he breathed, his ache for vengeance dancing on the air between us. “Oh, we’ll do more than that,” I assured him. “The Vegas won’t know what hit them.”
Seth bounded out of the chair and leapt on Darius like he’d just declared his undying love for him instead of offering a consolation hug. He jumped into Darius’s arms and knocked him back onto the bed where they fell on top of Cal who got dragged into the hug too. I laughed as the mood in the room switched dramatically and amusement, happiness and friendship filled the air. I got up and dove on top of them as well, earning myself more licks from Seth as he alternated between all of us.
He stepped closer and I stumbled back a step before remembering I was ten times as strong as him. But for half a second, it didn’t feel like that, power seeming to radiate from him. “I thought you were different,” he said slowly. “But you’re just like your whore of a sister, pining after bastardos who treat you like dirt and who only give you a second look because you’d drop onto your knees for them any time they liked. Es patético.” He turned his back on me and walked away into the crowd, seeming to trample on my heart as he left.
My grip tightened in his hair, my other hand shifting on his chest, my chin tilted, and Darius inched down- “Congratulations Darius, you actually managed to do something useful for once,” Lionel Acrux’s voice smashed through our bubble of peace like a bucket of cold water. A wave of magic slammed into me, and I cried out as I was thrown back, pinned to the cliff by a power so immense that I could hardly draw breath, let alone cast any magic in return.
